Who We Are

Paula Swanson - President

PAULA SWANSON is a life-long observer of human behavior, and has the ability to "explain people's behavior to one another." She has used this core competency with individuals, teams, and cross-culturally.

Paula is a Trainer/Coach and Consultant to both private sector and non-profit clients. She has worked with 1,000's of clients spanning many companies, industries, functional and educational backgrounds, as well as cultural backgrounds. Her work focuses on improving the clients' ability to be as competitive as possible in their work/careers.

She has been the President of her own firm since 1992, forging strategic partnerships with organizations and individual colleagues - here in the U.S. and internationally. Paula holds two key Professional Certifications: Master Level Practitioner of the MBTI, and Cultural Orientations Framework. She has a MA in Latin American Studies, and a BA in Spanish. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Alameda Point Collaborative, helping 500+ formerly homeless people into transitional housing.

 John Spafford - Vice President 

John has had a career as a Human Resources Professional Manager in 9 different federal agencies. His most recent position was H.R. Director for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in San Francisco. His prior experience included service with the Departments of Energy, Agriculture, Defense, and NASA.

John has worked in training and consulting, specializing in Organizational Development and Team Building. His work in Career Management includes providing career transitional training and counseling services for "downsized" employees of Netscape/AOL, IBM and the Defense Logistics Agency. John has also worked with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, training over 750 employees at the Environmental Protection Agency alone.
